Join our first Substack Live on 5/20/25 at 12:30 pm EST
Paid subscribers will receive priority ranking for asking questions during live conversations and advance notice of our future guests.
As part of our community-building efforts at GroundTruth, next Tuesday, we are launching Substack Lives—a real-time video conversation that will allow me to have direct dialogue with you and the wider Substack community.
My first Substack Live will be a discussion about the Middle East and reflections from Trump's visit to the region, which will be the topic for our newsletter tomorrow. I am hoping to bring a sense of historical context to the dialogue, which I’ve gained through more than 25 years covering the region. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and questions as part of this dialogue.
The live discussion will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, at 12:30 pm EST.
Along with occasional conversations with me on topics I am covering, we plan to feature guest speakers and experts in their field on future Substack Lives to help us better understand pressing issues shaping our country and the world. A few topics we plan to explore include: How AI is affecting journalists, the history of press freedom, and the evolution of what it means to be an American patriot.
As promised, we are going to keep this newsletter free. We will not put it behind a paywall, but we are going to offer incentives for subscribers who upgrade to a paid subscription.
As paid subscribers, you will receive advance knowledge of who these guests are and priority ranking for asking questions during the live conversations. Everyone will be able to attend these live discussions—whether you are a paid subscriber or not—and so we encourage you to join us and spread the word!
We are asking you for just $5 a month or $50 for the year to receive these benefits and further support our work.
If you are already a paid member, thank you. Your support means the world to us.
Best regards,
Charlie
